Pasta Foods is a world leader in the production of snack pellets and the UK's leading dry pasta producer. Based in Great Yarmouth on the east coast of Great Britain the company has been established for more than 40 years. With a workforce of approximately 130 people we are one of the main employers in the town. We work in close co-operation with our customers to provide tailor-made solutions to their requirements, trading in four specific areas:
- Extruded pellets for snack manufacturing.
- Ingredient dry pasta for the food processing industry.
- Pasta Rapido - the instant dried pasta that requires only to be re-hydrated.
- Semolina milled from durum wheat.
Extruded Pellets for Snack Manufacturers
Pasta Foods is a world leader in snack pellet manufacture, offering the ultimate combination of shape, texture and quality . We are acknowledged experts in the use of many and varied ingredients, such as potato, wheat, maize and pulses. Our pellets are purchased by snack manufacturers worldwide, including many brand leaders. We trade in over 30 countries. Pellets are fried or hot air expanded and converted to finished snack products.
Ingredient Pasta
We are the leading dried pasta producer in the United Kingdom. We operate primarily in the UK and European food processing sectors, where we have a strong presence and a wealth of experience in supplying the canning trade and producers of frozen, chilled and ambient meals and accompaniments. Along with traditional pasta shapes we also specialise in themed shapes, low moisture and instant pasta. Our extensive customer portfolio includes high profile branded and own label market leaders.
Pasta Rapido
Pasta Rapido was first brought to the market in 2002 to satisfy the needs of busy consumers. The product is treated using special processes both in its manufacture and treatment to allow a rehydration time of 2 to 5 minutes. Rapido is available in several shapes to deliver consumer interest and enjoyment. Typically, the product is sold to consumers in retail size packs via the mainstream retail industry or used in the creation of ‘snack pots’ for instant lunch-time snacking or for ‘meals on the go’. Rapido can even be rehydrated ‘without any cooking’ for addition to salads etc. to avoid the need for any high temperature rehydration. Semolina Milling
We operate a semolina mill near to the pasta and snack factory in Great Yarmouth, from where the majority of production is transferred to the company's own pasta factory. Durum wheat for milling is imported from carefully selected countries in both the rest of Europe and the North American continent. We also encourage local UK farmers to grow durum under controlled conditions for our own use. External sales of semolina are made to food processors for the production of fresh pasta, snacks and other specialities.
